Insanity Workout Review: Day 43 – Recovery Day
It was nice to wake up today and know that today way a recovery day. Today’s insanity workout was called Cardio Core and balance. Even though this is a recovery workout, there are some workouts that really burn your muscles.
I really do not have a lot to say about today’s Insanity workout, because I think I have already talked about it a few times, but I did really enjoy today’s workout, mainly because it was only 37 minutes long. The Cardio Core and balance workout really does a great job in making you hold positions. I felt like the main areas that get worked out are the thighs, hip flexors, and shoulders. You thighs get worked out because of all the squats. You Hip flexors get worked out in a whole 1:30 section with each leg. Then at the end, while you are in a squat type position, you workout your shoulders for like 3 minutes straight. By the end you do not even want to hold our arms up.
Shaun T does make it apparent that this workout is not supposed to be easy, but it is not supposed to be tough either. You should not be feeling absolutely exhausted after this workout. IT IS A RECOVERY WORKOUT!
Insanity Workout Review: Day 42 – Remember the feeling…
I woke up today remembering the feeling of how my body reacts to a Insanity workout. It has been a few weeks, but I know recall the soreness of it all. It still does not compare to the first whole week of the Insanity Workout, but I can definitely feel some soreness in my body. I do not mind soreness though, pain however sucks, but I am not experiencing any pain.
I did day 42 of my Insanity workout today, and it was the Max Interval Circuit. This is a very tough workout, they are all tough, but this one is especially tough. This is a full body workout…meaning…your whole body is going to be sore. There are some great lunge an squat workouts in the Max Interval Circuit. You do get breaks in this workout too! You get 30 second breaks between ever circuit. I make sure I have a lot of water when I do this workout, because it is an hour long. Water is so important, but you do not want to over drink, or drink ice cold water.
In this exercise, Shaun T actually threatens you…okay maybe not seriously…but he does say something about kicking your butt, and not playing around. Whatever he said, he meant it, because he really does kick your butt in this workout. I am really starting to look forward to the stretching portions of these workouts.
This is only the second day of being back, since my three week sick leave. My body is readjusting itself after being out of commission for awhile, but hopefully by the end of the week it will start feeling in shape again.
Insanity Workout Review: Day 41
So I finally Got back into the Insanity workout today. It has been a long time coming, but I am finally back into action. Today I did the Max Cardio Conditioning Insanity Workout, and it was a tough one to jump back in with. It has been about three weeks since I got terribly sick, and my body definitely felt weak today. Everything was a struggle, I am also still fighting of this cold. I feel good enough to workout though, I had a little hard time breathing and my ears wouldn’t pop, so it was a little annoying. On top of my sinuses still being plugged, my legs felt like lead, my legs definitely knew that they haven’t been worked out in awhile.
Today’s Insanity workout was a very tough workout, and I am sure it would have been tough even if I was in better shape. After the warm ups and the stretching, it is pretty much non stop for 32 minutes straight. The only time you take breaks is when Shaun T is showing you a workout that you are unfamiliar with.
This workout will definitely get your blood pumping, it is fast action and sweat dripping. I really struggled today with the cardio power moves. Anything that involved any strength I really struggled with. It is weird how much ground you can lose physically when you stop working out even just for three weeks. The Flu really takes a toll on the body, it has taken my body so long to recover. I don’t think I had the swine flu, but who knows…most people get over the Swine flu without any medication at all anyways.
I really want to finish this last month strong, so I got to get re-focused, and motivated again. The hardest part is getting motivated again to start working out. It is easy to make that first initial decision to workout, and then once you get in the flow of things, it is simple to keep on working out. But if you take a break from your workout, I always find its the most hard to get back into the swing of things after taking a break.
This will be good for me. I am going to try to eat well too. No pop, no fast food, no white breads.
Insanity workout review: Still Recovering
I am still getting closer to feeling better, I went to the health store today and got some cold and flu medication to see if I can finally knock this thing out. I am excited to get back to my insanity workouts and finish this second month strong. I might start doing the workouts again on friday, I want to do a couple workouts to help myself get back into shape before I full get back into the Insanity workout. I have lost a total of 8 pounds since I started doing the Insanity workout, and I am going to try to lose 5 more pounds before it is all over. I am still eating pretty decently, I could be doing better, but i am not doing terrible anymore.
I am also going to continue to go to the gym for some extra cardio work. I am going to do the cycling class on Mondays, plus do some weight lifting and core work on Wednesdays. It is going to be a stretch but I need to try to get in the habit of going back to the gym after my Insanity workout is over. It is important to me to not give up exercising after I am finished with the insanity workout. I feel that is where most people fail with their fitness goals, they stop when they should continue to press on.
So i will have some more Insanity workout reviews coming soon.
Insanity Workout Review: Be Back Soon
So I am starting to feel better, my sickness is finally starting to come to an end. It has been a really rough week with having flu symptoms and feeling pretty weak. I expect that in the next couple days I will pick the Insanity Workout back up and finish this second month. I am going to finish this Insanity workout and I will see results from it! Once I start doing all the workouts again, I know I will start eating healthier and taking care of my body once again too. There is something about exercising that motivates you to be more healthy in all the areas of your life, just not with fitness, but eating too.
I got back from my elk hunting trip, and unfortunately I did not get anything, neither did my Dad or my Uncle, we got shut out.
The Insanity Workout Is On Hold
So the day I was getting back into to the swing of things, I got pretty sick. I have not felt this terrible in a long time, its weird because I really do not get sick that often, and over the weekend I felt horrible. I am pretty sure I got the common cold, and I did not get swine flu. My throat was killing me and I have started a cough. Today I am starting to feel better, and it is probably because I have been downing Vitamin C, Dayquil, Emergen-C, and Halls. My throat is feeling a lot better, and I am starting to get my voice back.
